Izu / Atami

The Izu peninsula, and in particular the city of Atami located on the coast of Izu are famous for their onsen (hot spring) resorts. With quick 40 minute access from Tokyo by Shinkansen (Bullet-train), Atami has been a long-time favorite with Tokyo city-dwellers as a sea-side resort and place to relax and unwind with many hot springs, Japanese inns and the beautiful coastline.
