Description

The Kenshin Festival is a festival that commemorates the heroism and virtues of Uesugi Kenshin, the great general from the Sengoku era (1467-1590). This festival has been held every single year without fail since the Showa era (1926-1989) before the war, and has continued even during the war and after.
Don’t miss exciting highlights such as the “Samurai Parade” which features heroic warriors clad in armor and holding their swords and spears, while marching in tandem. In addition, the “Re-enactment of the Battles of Kawanakajima,” which depicts the military events and strategies of the battles just like the fast-paced narrative of a movie, with the Uesugi and Takeda troops running around the fire of their battle camps.
