概要
This exhibition event is all about Mariano Fortuny. Fortuny is a designer who was born in Granada, Spain and based in Venice, Italy. He is most well known for his creation and vast collection of Delphos gowns. These gowns were first designed in the early 1900s and were loved because of the light, silky and hand pleated design. These delicate, figure-hugging gowns were a trade secret Fortuny created and devised with his wife, Henriette Negrin. These gowns then went on to be famously known as the Fortuny pleats. The exhibition presents Fortuny’s life journey, how he fell in love with design and how the Fotruny pleats came to life. The Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum in Tokyo features Fortuny’s work loaned from Venice, the home of Fortuny’s work, and many other fashion related works of art such as paintings, stage costumes, and much more. © PIA Corporation.
