概要
Every year on the the third Saturday and Sunday of May in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, a festival celebrating spring is held. The Sendai Suzume Odori, or sparrow dance, is performed by many local groups using fans in both hands, the dancers perform an energetic dance for the gathering crowds. There is also a samurai parade, which will make you feel like you've time slipped back to feudal Japan. Visitors are also treated to gorgeously decorated festival floats or Yamaboko which make for an all-round high paced energetic festival. |
