Things to know
The brushes made at Kumano have a long and rich history of over 150 years and the Fude Brush Festival has been held every year since 1935 to commemorate it's globally famous brushes along with beautiful Japanese calligraphy. Many people gather to see the vibrant and energetic calligraphy shows where a calligraphy artist performs live with huge calligraphy brushes creating fantastic swishing calligraphy art works. After seeing one of the live performances why don't you take part in one of the calligraphy lessons too, and actually try using a Kumano brush! Among calligraphy brushes, make-up brushes are also on display and can be bought at the festival too! |
