概要
With a hundred portable shrines being carried through the streets, Sanja Matsuri Festival is one of the largest of such parades moving across Tokyo. Either praying for the good fortune of businesses and residents in Asakusa, or just looking to have a good time, the Sanja Matsuri Festival is a time for Tokyoites to cut loose. With parading officials wearing Edo-era costumes across the city playing traditional instruments such as the flute or drums, there is genuine revelry to be found all around. With plenty of food stalls out and many other concurrent events happening, such as Geisha shows or taiko drumming, there is plenty for visitors of all ages to do. |
