Amanohashidate is a sandbar located in a bay in the north of Kyoto Prefecture. It is considered one of Japan’s three most scenic views. It is also called the “Kyoto of the Sea”. The sandbar is covered with about 8000 pine trees. Because it looks like a pathway to heaven, it is called Ama no Hashidate (Bridge in Heaven). Its mysterious shape has been formed by nature over the course of thousands of years, and attracts many visitors throughout the course of the year. Stunningly beautiful, both nature lovers and photographers will love the unusual design of Amanohashidate.
