Asamushi Aquarium is the northernmost aquarium in Honshu. Along with aquatic life native to Aomori prefecture, there is a wide variety of marine life, for a total of 10,000 creatures of 300 varieties. The 15 meter long tunnel recreates the sea at Mutsu bay, and you can observe scallop reproduction and other living beings of Mutsu bay up close. There’s also the very popular dolphin show, which goes on year-round in the indoor pool. Dolphins perform with Tsugaru shamisen and nebuta hayashi music in this dynamic, only-in-Aomori show. Plus, you can see penguins, seals, and more up close at the sea mammal house, and even touch the sea life at the popular touch corner.
