Goza Shirahama Beach is a calm, secluded beach in Mie Prefecture. Located within the Ise-Shima National Park, the beach’s white sand and crystal-clear waters make it popular among tourists. While usually quiet during the off-season, once the beach opens for swimming in summer, it becomes a popular destination for both locals and tourists, foreign and domestic, and it is considered one of the best beaches in Japan. In fact, the emerald-green water is said to be the most beautiful in the country, and the beach has been selected by the Ministry of the Environment as one of the 100 Best Swimming Beaches of Japan.
Visitors to the beach can enjoy swimming and a variety of other marine activities, of course, but various events such as treasure hunts are also held. There are also plenty of local shops and restaurants nearby to take a rest in after a fun-filled day at the beach.
