The Wakayama Prefecture Kii-fudoki-no-oka Museum of Archaeology and Folklore is a museum facility for the study of antiquities and folk customs set up in 1971 for the purpose of preserving and using the special historic site “Iwahashi Chizuka Tomb Group.” The whole area of the garden, with a total area of about 650,000 square meters is a museum, and you can learn about history by directly interacting with cultural properties, such as ancient burial mounds and historic houses that are cultural properties, a Manyo Botanical Garden, and pit houses. The area is also popular as a hiking course where you can enjoy seasonal flowers. With something that can appeal to anyone on the grounds, the Wakayama Prefecture Kii-fudoki-no-oka Museum of Archaeology and Folklore shouldn't be missed.
