Kurushima Kaikyo Ohashi Bridge is a large suspension bridge on the Shimanami Kaido route that connects the island of Oshima to the main Shikoku island. When it was completed in 1999, it was the world's longest suspension bridge and the first structure to combine three successive suspension bridges into one. The total length is more than 4000m. The bridge is itself a great photo motif but it also provides scenic views of the Seto Inland Sea and its islands. The scenery of the Kurashima Kaikyo strait has been praised by poets as looking like a painting and the bridge design can be credited for fitting in well with the surroundings. The bridge can be crossed by foot, bike or car.
