Meoto Iwa, is a spot located in the ocean just off of Saruta Hiko Jinja Shrine in Mie prefecture. It's name literally meaning "Husband and Wife Rocks", refers to the two large rocks that look like a married couple snuggled together, and their 9 meter (30 ft) distance is connected by a thick rope measuring 35m (115 feet), that wraps around both rocks, giving for an almost romantic atmosphere. The Husband rock is 9 meters (30 ft) tall and the wife is a cute 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall. This spot is famous for being able to see the sun rise between the two rocks from May~July, and if the weather is good enough you can see the sun rise up from behind Mt. Fuji in the distance. During the Autumn/Winter period you can see the full moon arranged between the two rocks too.
