The Sakamoto Hachimangu Shrine is located in Dazaifu, Fukuoka Prefecture, and recently became famous for being associated with the new era name ‘Reiwa’. It is believed to have been the site of an event that is mentioned in an ancient collection of Japanese poems and which led to the word. Sakamoto Hachimangu Shrine is engulfed in by forestry providing guests with a sense of tranquility once passing the stone torii gate.
