The park is famous for its colorful seasons: cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring and foliage in autumn. Near the remains of the Otemon Gate is a large Japanese zelkova tree that is about 620 years old; it's designated as a Natural Treasure of Fukushima Prefecture, and it is also known as the symbol of Tanagura.
