Registered as a World Heritage site, Tomioka Silk Mill was built 140 years ago, with its original production facility remaining in use even today. Furthermore, adopting a combination of French construction techniques and Japan’s unique silk milling methods, Tomioka Silk Mill was admired as one of the world’s largest silk mills in its era.
