With an incredibly intuitive design, Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido prefecture is a trailblazer in coming up with creative ways for visitors to encounter and understand the behaviors of zoo inhabitants. The zoo employs the use of underwater tunnels to allow visitors to see penguins swimming, "marine way" tubes to see seals swimming from all angles, and even low to the ground "glass eye" domes to put you in the frighting position of being eye level with wolves and polar bears. And if startling situations weren't an interest of yours, there's always the daily penguin walk where you can move around beside a small army of marching penguins. In Asahiyama Zoo, there's something to suit all tastes and it is a great spot to bring the whole family.Show spot information
