  1. 1
    Kochijo Castle

Kochi Castle was selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. The castle tower and inner palace were constructed in the 17th century, and Kochi Castle is the only castle in Japan that retains both structures on site. 15 structures and gates have been designated as important cultural assets, and the castle is also known as Takashiro (Falcon Castle), which stems from its grey roof tiles and white walls resembling the coloring of a falcon. In recent years, projection mapping events have also been held here.

  2. 2
    Hirome Ichiba Market

Hirome Ichiba Market has a plethora of restaurants and shops offering not only local cuisine but also other Japanese, Western and Chinese cuisine as well as souvenir and clothes shops all lined up in the old market style of Japan. Once you enter the market the first thing you need to do is find somewhere to sit after you’ve bought your food. This is because most of the food stores here don’t have their own tables so, once you’ve collected your food you’ll need to find a table to sit down and eat at. The marketplace is also a local favorite place to relax so it’s a good place to not just enjoy food but also chat and interact with the locals while you enjoy your food!

  3. 3
    Mt. Godai

Kochi prefecture's Mt. Godai gets its name from Mt. Wutai in China, whose topography it resembles. There is an observation platform at the summit that offers a view of the city and bay. An area famous for its cherry blossoms and azalea flower, it also has a botanical garden nearby. Here, some 3000 varieties of plants change beautifully with the seasons.
