What we'll do
This tour is perfect for children to make some memories during summer vacation. At the Kitakyusyu Museum of Natural History & Human History where they have on display numerous specimens of dinosaur skeletons, and mounted mammals and birds, you can learn from the many displays the history and evolution of life. Itozu no Mori Zoological Park which has about 100 types of animals is well known as a zoo that allows the animals to live in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. Kokurajo Castle that grants you a panoramic view of Fukuoka has history that dates back to the end of the Sengoku period, and there are also displays that let you learn how life was like back then.

Kitakyusyu Museum of Natural History & Human History
The Kitakyushu Museum of Natural History and Human History was built on the former factory site of Nippon Steel Yawata Works. The museum is a large-scale learning space with a variety exhibits on history and the evolution of life. There are plenty of things worth seeing, such as the displays of stuffed mammals and birds in the Diversity of Life exhibit, the Discovering Nature exhibit where you can observe the nature of northern Kyushu, and the Time Traveling Room that has books on the skeletal structures of dinosaurs. There are also exhibits for kids and a playroom for toddlers, ensuring fun for people of all ages. A variety of events are held throughout the year as well, including a wildlife observation that begins with a lecture on the history of nature and handmade craft workshops. Itozu no Mori Zoological Park
The Itozu no Mori Zoological Park includes factors of both zoos and amusement parks. Over 100 kinds of animals at 500 points are exhibited in the Animal Zone, and as much as possible the animals are kept without cages in environments outfitted to be close to their natural habitat. The petting zoo, where visitors can also feed and pet the animals, is popular among couples and families. Within the premises there are also a variety of other enjoyment facilities such as a ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and athletic attractions as well as an open lawn in the Park Zone, making for a full day of relaxing fun.Show spot information
Kokura Castle, located in the Kitakyushu area in north Fukuoka, is a castle built in 1602. It has been reconstructed and was finally fully restored in 1990 after several fires that destroyed the original. You can choose just to access the keep and the museum within for JPY 300 or you can buy a discount ticket for JPY 700 that allows for access to the keep, surrounding gardens, and also the Matsumoto Seicho Museum for the full experience.Show spot information
