This is a typical day trip in Hakone by public transportation.
Some sightseeing sites in Hakone near Tokyo will please you fully.
You can enjoy a ship designed like a Viking one on a lake, then reach to the hot springs and volcanic craters area by riding on a rope-way and finally eat boiled black eggs which are said to let you live seven years longer each.
You can also enjoy historical venues and interesting museums there.

Notes: At Odawara Station you can buy Hakone 2 Days Free Pass tickets that you can use on almost all public transportation in Hakone including a Viking ship and rope-way and it takes 4000 Japanese yen per person.
It takes less than 40 minutes and about 4000 JPY per person to Odawara Station from Tokyo Station by bullet train.
Owakudani Valley: by riding on a rope-way
You can see a spectacular scenery with smoke of sulfur dioxide and boiled water vapor around the volcano crater in Owakudani Valley and see the big Mt Fuji if it's clear. In addition, you can enjoy eating an egg boiled in the hot springs and turned black on the surface that is said to let you live seven years longer.
