The Atomic Bomb Dome is proximity to the Hiroshima City and located in the big park, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Although it stood only around 160 meters from the hypocenter and its inside and roof were heavily blown up, the structure barely survived. Through many efforts by the locals, the building has been remained until today and designated as a World Heritage.

The closer you step into the Atomic Bomb Dome, the more you will see or actually feel how desperately this building plead the peace. This ruined architecture shows the real influence of the atomic bomb. To not to forget this tragedy, Japanese junior high school or high school students visit here for their field trips from over the nation. In the park, you will see thousands of colorful cranes made by Origami; color papers. These cranes represent peace and these were sent from all over Japan.
