The Okinawa Zento Eisa Matsuri is one of the major summer festivals in Okinawa, attracting a total of around 300,000 visitors over the course of its three days. The main highlight of the festival is the music―groups from all over the prefecture perform traditional music pieces using instruments such as shamisen, taiko drums, and more. There is also a parade and a special children’s section as well as other creative Eisa performances. On the final day, there is also a folk dance and fireworks display, letting festival-goers experience the true colors of an Okinawan summer. |
