Things to know

Each year in September, the Kehi Jingu Shrine celebrates the Tsuruga Festival. 6 magnificent floats made at the end of Meiji Period, (ended in 1912) parade the city. Each float is a masterpiece, with intricate parts of life-sized samurais from the Sengoku (feudal) period. It is the biggest festival in the Hokuriku region, held for four days with each day having a different theme. Various dances and parades are performed and the overall atmosphere makes you feel like you've time slipped back into the Meiji and Sengoku period!
