Things to know
Owara Kaze no Bon festival is a traditional Japanese folk dance festival held every September in the small villages of Yatsuo, Toyama prefecture. This festival started over 300 years ago to calm the winds and protect their crops from natural disasters that are common in Japan. With thatched straw hats, kimonos and synchronized movements, the dances continue for 3 days. Lanterns and music with taiko drums and other Japanese instruments add to the enchanting folklore of the festival. |
