Tsuruichi Hanakasaboko Festival and Fireworks is a two day festival that prays for bountiful harvests in Nakatsu city Oita prefecture in Kyushu, with a powerful fireworks display on the second day being the climax to the event. With 19 colorful Hanakasaboko (flower umbrella floats) being paraded through the lush green rice paddies accompanied by music, this event is quite unique in terms of its aesthetics, and definitely worth the visit! On the second day a fireworks display with around 2500 fireworks lights up the summer evening sky and the festivities go on into the night. |
