Aoyama Cemetery is a famous graveyard in the Aoyama area of Tokyo. It includes the graves of many famous Japanese people, including general Nogi Maresuke and writer Shiga Naoya. It is also one of the few cemeteries in Tokyo to feature a section dedicated to foreign notables. In particular, it houses the remains of foreign experts who contributed to Japan's modernization in the late 19th century. Another reason why many people visit the cemetery is because it is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing or hanami in spring.
