It is the home ground of the J-League (professional soccer league in Japan) team Roasso Kumamoto and the stadium can seat up to 32,000 people. Chosen as one of the venues for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, this is a great opportunity to also get some sightseeing in of Kumamoto. Most visitors will come via Kumamoto's city center, where you have very quick access to sightseeing spots such as the majestic Kumamoto Castle and the beautiful Japanese garden "Suizen-ji Joju-en". While there are some temporary car parking spaces available during the 2019 Rugby World Cup, it is advised you use public transport when accessing the stadium.
