Osaki Hachimangu Shrine built by Date Masamune is famous for it’s typical “Date” culture design built with fully lacquered parts and golden ornaments give vibrant color to it’s Momoyama style architecture is designated as a national treasure. At the Hachimangu along the road approaching the shrine, locals still to this day use it as a place to celebrate marriage, coming of age, children's festivals, Hatsumode (first visit to the shrine in the new year) and local festival. Also, the shrine hosts a slew of other festivals throughout the year for visitors to enjoy, another characteristic of this shrine.
