Sunshine Aquarium
With a reputation for being the oasis in the sky, the Sunshine Aquarium in Ikebukuro should not be missed. Occupying the top two floors of the World Import Market, the sensation of moving upwards to see the oceanlife is bizarre. With a number of fun things to see all year round, like the regular feeding, or the Outdoor Marine Garden, there's always something interesting to do. And with the QR code enabled English language translations, and the convenient location in Tokyo, the Sunshine Aquarium in Ikebukuro is a very accessible location for travelers.

Sunshine Aquarium is partially located on top of a tall building which makes the experience even more impressive. There is a lot of unique exhibits - a wide range of rare fish and other sea creatures. There’s also the classic large sea animals like penguins, stingrays, octopuses, otters, sea lions and seals.
It gets pretty crowded on weekends so I’d recommend going on a weekday if possible. Entry is cheap and the aquarium is very well maintained. 2 hours is more than enough time to see everything here.
