【Japan Heritage】 An Online Teaser Trip to Mitokusan Sanbutsuji Temple, the most dangerous heritage site in the country
What we'll do
Mitokusan Sanbutsuji Temple has stood on a dangerous cliff deep in the mountains of Tottori Prefecture for more than a thousand years, hidden from casual passersby by its long and steep road. On this interactive tour, you’ll have direct communications with a guide who will use short videos to introduce the temple and surrounding area, making for a perfect experience for those who have plans to visit Japan or would like to know more about Japan’s culture and heritage. Not only will you get to experience how it feels to climb the mountain from the comfort of your own home, but you will also be able to view spectacular scenery and nature as well as learn about unique rituals and history. Why does the temple hall stand in such an unreachable place? Why must visitors pass through dark caves to get there? What will we find at the end of the trip?
