SDGs, migration to rural areas, entrepreneurship, and management by a tomato lover, using tomatoes as a starting point
What we'll do
Do you like tomatoes? Of all the foods I eat, there is none that I love more than tomatoes.
It was this "love of tomatoes" that led me to move to Japan when I was over 50 years old.
I moved to Nishiyo City, Ehime Prefecture. It is located on the west side of Ehime Prefecture and is rich in nature.
Above all, it is an area with a large temperature difference between day and night, which is one of the most important factors for the growth of tomatoes.
This is where I started my tomato farming business. What I found out was that about 20% of tomatoes are not distributed, and are discarded as substandard tomatoes.
As a lover of tomatoes, I couldn't just discard the substandard tomatoes.
That's why I started a company called "Lycopene's" to plan and sell processed products using the discarded off-spec tomatoes.
We hope that everyone will learn about the depth of tomatoes and the appeal of Nishiyo City.
I look forward to meeting you both online and offline!

3YUSUKAWA, a place of relaxation and old-fashioned dining
A cafeteria where you can enjoy tomatoes themselves and dishes made with tomatoes.
It provides a nostalgic and warm "place" where local people and tourists can interact.
I am an entrepreneur in Japan. I have my company EXest that makes the international travelers WOW. EXest runs the platform that connect the traveler to guide. We have to different kind of guides, one is a national licensed guide, another is a WOW U-mediator who can express her/himself. So I can talk about a Japanese start-up company, each side(good side and bad side). If you want to understand Japanese start-up, please contact me. I am looking forward to meeting you. Thank you.
