Saga prefecture is a small prefecture located in north-west Kyushu, next to Fukuoka and Nagasaki prefectures. On a size and economic scale, Saga is the smallest prefecture in Kyushu. However, it is home to some famous festivals, with the perhaps most spectacular one being the Saga International Balloon Fiesta, which is a hot air balloon event that takes advantage of the beautiful peaceful landscape of Saga and enjoys huge turnouts every year at its holding ground in Saga City at the start of November. Saga's little towns of Arita and Imari are also rich in their history for the famous pottery produced there. In terms of local cuisine, Saga is famous for delicious squid sashimi and tempura.
