Things to know

Hase-dera is an ancient temple known for its charming colors throughout the seasons, which range from bright Spring flowers to richly colorful Autumn foliage. The temple is especially worthwhile during summer, as the purple Hydrangea flowers brighten your day. Smiling “Jizo” statues can be seen around Hase-dera, which are said to bring you good fortune. If you seek spiritual comfort out in the nature, you can try “Shakyo or Shabushi”, the practice of copying the Buddhist Sutra.
