Things to know

The National Film Archive of Japan was formerly known as National Film Center and was part of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. It offers screenings of Japanese movies and thematic exhibitions on the history of Japanese cinema and its international links. If you are into Japanese films, this is the perfect chance to see movies that are not available for online streaming or in the movie theatre anymore.

Monday : close

Final admission is 30 minutes before closing.
On the last Friday of the month the opening hours are extended to 20:00.

Closed during screening preparation, between exhibitions; Dec 28, 2019-Jan 3, 2020, Mar 9-31,2020.
The facility may also close occasionally for changing of exhibits and maintenance activities.
Schedules, titles and contents of the exhibitions may be changed without notice.

Exhibitions:

Wheelchair users can get free parking if they call ahead.
