Things to know

The National Film Archive of Japan was formerly known as National Film Center and was part of the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo. It offers screenings of Japanese movies and thematic exhibitions on the history of Japanese cinema and its international links. If you are into Japanese films, this is the perfect chance to see movies that are not available for online streaming or in the movie theatre anymore.

Tuesday・Wednesday・Thursday・Friday・Saturday・Sunday : 11:00~18:30
Monday : close

Final admission 30 minutes before closing.
Extended hours on the last Friday of every month: 11:00-20:00.

Closed during the Japanese New Year period.
Closing days may vary occasionally for changing of exhibits and maintenance activities. Please check the official website for further details.

*Closed March 9th - May 28th 2020 for maintenance of the facilities.
