Sanko Inari Jinja Shrine is a Shinto Shrine in Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture. The shrine houses the protective deity of Inuyama Castle. Located at the foot of the castle, it is a popular stop for visitors to Inuyama. The shrine is most famous for its heart-shaped ema or wishing plaques. Hundreds of visitors have written their wishes on the back of these wooden plaques and hung them up at various locations throughout the shrine. The impressive sight of hundreds of hearts that contain the wishes of hundreds of people makes for beautiful photographs. If you like, you can also purchase a plaque yourself and write down your own wishes for good fortune.
