A Buddhist temple that is said to have been built in year 806. The scarlet-painted main hall and the bell have become important symbols of the site. The grounds of the neighborhood Senko-ji Park are filled with cherry blossom in Spring, and in the evening the delicate paper lanterns lights shining upon the cherry trees is a muse-see. Additionally, from the summit observation deck one can view not only the beautiful town of Onomichi (designated as a Japanese Heritage City), but also the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea and, if the weather is good, as far as the mountains of Shikoku can be observed.
