Shibuya Crossing is Japan’s largest and most famous scramble crossing. At busy times, about 3,000 people are said to cross the intersection during one green light! Scenes of crowds of people all starting to walk at the same time when the lights change are often presented as a spectacle symbolic of the megalopolis of Tokyo, just because of the sheer numbers of pedestrians. This is so much so that Shibuya Crossing is also included in itineraries of sightseeing tours for international visitors to Japan.

Unmissable! This is the busiest crossing in the world and its easy to see why. This is a must see site, the lights, the people, the music - it all screams Japan. To get a better look there are cafes on each sides of the crossing that let you see the action from above. I recommend going at both day and night and seeing the area transform into a crazy neon lit hub.

A staple of Tokyo, this intersection is the quintessential experience of the Japanese capital. Encapsulating the bustling and chaotic nature of life in Tokyo, perhaps the most amazing aspect of Shibuya Crossing is how ordinary it becomes if you live here for a longer period of time. Gain a better vantage point by going to Starbucks or another venue with a prime view of the crossing and get mesmerised by the never ending cycle. Moving on to practical matters, there are plenty of bars, clubs and eateries around the area. Also don't forget to check out Hachiko, possibly the cutest statue in the world. With few comparisons in the world, you cannot afford to miss this one.

Iconic place. There are numerous buildings surrounding Shibuya Crossing, so I recommend going up to some buildings and watch people walking across Shibuya Crossing. It shows how lively and busy Tokyo is.

My friends and I had only been in Tokyo for one night and this was one of our first stops, the world famous Shibuya Crossing, which some of us had only seen in movies. Who would've thought that crossing an intersection would be such a visceral experience. There were people passing you by from all different angles and sides. Speaking of the people, wow, too many to count. Walking across the Shibuya Crossing is a must do while you're in Tokyo.
