Some shops here are selling roasts, hamburger and taco, which really surprised me because they are not traditional Japanese foods at all. In addition to fresh fish, many shops are selling dried foods here. I think dried foods are not easy to find in Japan. If you like it, this spot is a must-go. And many drug stores are open here. Souvenir sold here are not unique. So I think if you are passing by this spot during your travel, you can have a look but don’t need to come here specially.

Ameya Yokocho (Ameyoko) could only be described as a street food lover's paradise, with stores selling foods from fruit on skewers to celebrity-famous kebab to black xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) to menchi katsu (fried meat patty) to takoyaki (grilled octopus balls) and kaisendon (seafood bowl); bottom line, there is something for everyone. For all the sweet-tooths out there, a visit to "Niki no Kashi" is a definite must as the store stocks around 5,000 varieties of sweets and candies from around the world. Ameyoko is also a great place for shopping, a notable place being Takeya, a discount store that stocks just about anything and everything one can think of. Overall, an amazing place to visit if eating, shopping and souvenir-hunting were on your list of things to do today.
